The waters of the river Ericht that flow out of the Highlands once drove a remarkable series of 14 mills. The water wheels have now stopped turning and the mills have fallen silent but a walk along the leafy riverbank provides a fascinating glimpse at this once vibrant early industrial landscape.
Grade of walk: 1 (easy: mostly flat path though can be muddy in places)
Cost: £3 donation to Blairgowrie, Rattray & District Local History Trust payable online www.blairathistory.org
Booking: pre-booking essential through Trust Secretary Tony Luckins
Additional Information: STRICTLY NO DOGS ◦ bring snack rations and drinking water
