August is traditionally a harvesting month. Crops ripened by the sun are gathered and the grains used for making tasty foods and beverages and the Crannog farmers plough the soil.
Iron Age life is highlighted by the Crannog Community in this interactive farming event.
Farming and ploughing. Beer and cheese-making. Barley- based cookery demonstrations, grain-grinding.
Plus drop-spinning, corn-dollies, woodworking, creative crafts and fire-making.
