The Celts are Coming! celebrates prehistoric life. Held over 2 days at The Scottish Crannog Centre's site in Kenmore, the event features the A-List of prehistoric experts.
First held as part of our 20th anniversary celebrations in 2017, Celts are Coming! is back again for a second year. If you thought life in the Iron Age might be a wee bit dull, join us for this weekend long Iron Age extravaganza and prepare to be amazed.
Here are some of the experts already confirmed for the event:
Prehistoric Foods - Caroline Nicolay of Pario Gallicowill be cooking up a storm in the prehistoric kitchen.
'Half-Goat Leatherworks' - Hamish Odinsonjoins us again with his stunning leatherwork.
The Celtic Garden - Suzanne Sporlederdemonstrates uses with plants and herbs.
Spoon Carver -Jon Mac will be hand-carvingamazingspoons, bowls and other fabulous wooden objects.
Blacksmithing - Thomas Timbrellwill show us this fascinating traditional skill.
Stonecarving - David McGoverndemonstrates his talents with stone, words and images.
Wood-Turning - Alex Woodwill demonstrate woodturning using his own lathe.
Textiles - Debbie Zawinskidemonstrates the delicate and tricky skill of drop-spinning and ways with wool and textiles.
Bronze-casting/Metal-working - Iron Age interpretersfrom the Crannog community will show you these magical arts.
In addition, we will be holding theIron Age Olympics - great fun for the kids featuring spear-throwing, archery and fish-throwing; ancient crafts and technologies plus go back in time in the iconic Crannog Roundhouse.
The event starts both days at 10am, the site closes at 5.30pm. You do not need to book for this event.
