Perth City Centre dramatically failing says Retailers

New businesses have recently taken over the empty units in Perth City Centre which retailers still think its not enough.

Figures obtained by the Courier show retailers visited the centre dropped from almost 315,000 in March 2013, to 285,000 this year.

Several businesses had spoken to local press, one including Laura Wilson, who owns Whispers of the Past at George Street.

Parking seems to be the major issue within Perth & Kinross Council - which appeared their last promotion failed - free parking after 2pm during the festive period was put in place across many parking slots throughout the town centre.

Vintage Clothing was recently set up this year and only lasted one month prior to costs and the lack of custom which has most effect on parking.

Sweet Success which has now been re-branded as  the "99p shop" was from days closing until free exposure and promotion from Perth Gazette gained them more custom considering the location of the shop is invisible to most visitors which lead to the lack of advertising.
