RBS announce new charges for customers

RBS, Royal Bank of Scotland have announced today two changes to current accounts.

At present accounts that go over £6 on an unplanned-overdraft will be charged £6 per weekday. From October 2014 accounts will only be charged if they increase over £10 for an unplanned overdraft.

RBS said: "At the moment, you may be charged an Unarranged Overdraft Usage Fee if you go more than £6 overdrawn without arranging an overdraft limit with us. We're increasing that to £10 so you are less likely to pay a charge.

You'll be able to pay cheques and cash into your Royal Bank of Scotland account at most Post Office® branches - giving you another way to bank with us."
