It has emerged thousands of customers on Freeview have had their signal affected since the launch of the 4G service.

The service that was launched last month around Perth, as been having the disadvantage affects for some customers on Freeview. As the frequency affects the signal customers are experiencing loss of service, sound delay and picture quality.

Since Summer 2013, mobile phone operators have rolled out new fourth-generation (4G) networks to provide customers with high speed wireless broadband. Where these services are broadcast on certain airwaves (the 800MHz band), they may interfere with Freeview reception.* A new company, at800, has been set up by the mobile operators to provide filters and other assistance to households where TV reception may be affected.

Viewers will receive a postcard from at800 if they are predicted to be in an area that may experience interference.

You can request a filter for free by clicking here.

For more information, visit at800 or call them on 0333 31 31 800 (Freephone 0808 13 13 800).

Existing 4G services from EE do not affect Freeview services as these operate in a different band.
