Police Scotland are appealing for information after a man dies following a fire in Perth yesterday, 18th of November 2018. He had been within the property when emergency services were called at 9.50pm on Sunday evening. The man has yet to be formally identified but his next of kin have been made aware, police said.

‘A joint investigation with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is currently ongoing, but I can however confirm that the fire is being treated as suspicious.

‘I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area of St Catherine’s Square in Perth just before 10pm yesterday evening and saw anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch with police’.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire at St Catherine's Square.
