Police across Scotland say they have been receiving a large number of calls relating to a bright flash.

Residents in Perthshire and across Scotland shared on social media report of a 'bright flash'.

There has been speculation over the 'bright flash' that it could have been a meteor burning up or a sonic boom from an aircraft.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "We've had reports of a very loud bang but we've been unable to establish what it is.

"Some people were saying their houses were shaking."

Jenni Morrison who captured the video below said "It was absolutely amazing" after capturing the "Bright flash" across Scotland this evening.
