As expected, winter is certainly doing its job as Scotland will face  high winds and rain over the weekend.

The Met Office has issued several warnings over Scotland and England for Hurricane force winds.

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for Scotland and northern England over the weekend. But forecasters warned conditions remain unpredictable and said the warning may be upgraded to a more serious amber alert.

A spokesman added: “At present there remains some uncertainty in the precise track and depth of this depression and therefore the exact strength and location of the strongest winds.

“As such, the situation remains somewhat uncertain and the public should keep up to date with the latest warnings. There is the possibility that this warning may be upgraded to amber.”
