Major new BBC TV series casting locally in Perth for Wise Characters

The BBC is making a brand new TV series that looks at bringing traditional wisdom into the lives of everyday individuals.

Producers are currently casting in Perth for local characters with significant life experience who could provide advice and insight to others and will be heading to Scotland in the next few weeks.

They are looking for groups and individuals who could help someone going through a pivotal moment in their lives whether it’s becoming a parent, getting married or changing careers.

The series is inspired by the idea that in our hectic modern lives many individuals find themselves out of touch with wisdom that has helped others for centuries. It seems people are more likely to turn to Google with their problems than ask a grandparent, religious leader or respected community member the BBC said to Perth Gazette.

The casting team are looking for great characters who can be positive role models with their own opinions and insight.

They could be a pair of hairdressers who dish out advice to their clients, a nun who has nurtured young minds for many years, a small social group who enjoy putting the world to rights or maybe colleagues who work in a demanding career emergency services, fishermen, farmers and landlords.
