Perth Autism Support receives £20,000 from Scottish Power's Foundation

The Scottish Power Foundation has announced it will donate £20,000 to Perth Autism Support this year, as part of a record £1.8million being delivered to good causes across the UK during 2017. The Perth charity will use the funds to support its work with young adults living with autism in Perth and Kinross.

The project is one of twenty-six charitable organisations set to benefit from the Scottish Power Foundation’s biggest funding year to date. The Scottish Power Foundation was established in 2013 with the aim of making a significant and lasting contribution to society, enhancing the lives of people living in communities throughout the UK. It provides funding to registered charities which are involved in the advancement of education, environmental protection, citizenship and community development. The Foundation also supports non-profit organisations working in science, the arts, heritage or culture as well as the prevention of poverty and relief of disability or other disadvantage.

Each of the 26 beneficiaries to receive a slice of the funding from the Scottish Power Foundation will deliver events, information or campaigns that directly benefit people living in their local communities or regions including a theatre event, a science learning programme and cancer respite care.

The Scottish Power Foundation is committed to improving the lives of people living in our local communities and by delivering this funding we want to ensure the good work continues. This year will be the biggest funding year to date for the Foundation and I’m looking forward to seeing how all of the projects come to fruition.”
