Perth & Kinross Council slammed by residents of Perth following cut backs

North Muirton residents have taken maintenance into their own hands following council cut backs.

Two men from Perth managed to cut a small football pitch in one of Perth's fields after Perth & Kinross Council decided to cut back on grass cutting.

One user suggested cutting the grass in funny-crude shapes in a bid to win the council over.

Residents are complaining money is being spent else where rather than other places where it is needed most, such as the Baton relay and the Ryder Cup. Many fear it will cause kids to commit crime and lead to depression as the council fail to make Perth more of an welcoming environment.

A spokesman from Perth & Kinross Council said: “The Council continues to maintain around 1800 sites around Perth and Kinross, from major parks to small local green spaces. The Council also continues to work closely with community groups to identify which sites we could reasonably reduce maintenance on in preference to others. Some groups have also volunteered to take on the maintenance work themselves for some areas, and we would be keen to hear from local organisations and groups who would be willing to carry out further maintenance in their community.”
