Perth mother of 2 set fire to her own flat in a bid to be rehoused

Kirsty McFadyen had set fire to her own flat to get rehoused by Perth & Kinross Council.

Kirsty McFadyen, 24, from Culliven Court admitted to the court she had set her flat on fire to get rehoused by Perth & Kinross Council.

The court heard Kirsty had used cooking oil and junk mail to set the fire which managed to create a lot of smoke. The Daily Record understands that Kirsty deliberately set the fire because her child was being bullied.

Kirsty McFadyen was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid paid work.
