Police Scotland carry out Operation Quest in Perth

Police Scotland carried out a week long operation in an effort to reduce criminal activity across Perth City and the surrounding areas. 

Operation Quest ran from 29th of October until 5th of November 2016 that included high visibility patrols, proactive communication with the community and executing warrants.

Two search warrants were executed, a man charged with drug offences,  one man for theft, man wanted for recall to prison, a female causing a disturbance who was paralytic, a youth reported to the Youth Justice Assessor for a disturbance in Perth and man reported for assault.

Police Constables and Special Constables also communicated between local businesses to be vigilant when selling flour, eggs and fireworks to youths. Police Scotland also worked with partner agencies such as Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, Trading Standards and Perth and Kinross Council community wardens.

Visits were also made to victims of domestic abuse to provide reassurance, advice and prevent further crimes being committed towards them and to ensure their safety.

A workshop was also set up in St John's Shopping Centre where advice and bag bells were handed out to the community.

Inspector Kevin Chase said: "I hope this operation will provide increased public confidence and reassurance to our local communities, that Police Scotland is committed to reducing the number of victims of crime in Perth and Kinross.

'We worked in conjunction with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the local authority to ensure everyone had a safe Bonfire Night.

'This operation focused on those who are causing harm in our communities and on our streets and this will not be tolerated, we are dedicated to keeping people safe.

'We are keen to hear from anyone in the community who has any concerns about criminal activity or anti social behaviour. Anyone who wants to report such activity should contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
