A routine traffic stop escalated into a pursuit through Perth on Monday night, culminating in the arrest of two men.

The incident began at approximately 9.30pm on 14 July, when officers attempted to stop a vehicle travelling along Gowans Terrace towards Dunkeld Road. The driver failed to comply, prompting a short pursuit that continued along Crieff Road, Tulloch Road, and other areas of the city.

The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle mounted the pavement on Fairies Road.

Upon stopping the car, officers discovered quantities of cash, cannabis, and several mobile phones. Both the driver, a 25-year-old man, and a 19-year-old male passenger were arrested at the scene.

They have been charged in connection with road traffic and drug offences. Police confirmed that reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
