Viewfield Place closed by police following an assault

Police Scotland are currently investigating an assault today, 10th of February 2019.

Police were seen in riot gear entering a building, eye witnesses said.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: "Police Scotland is investigating an assault which occurred in the Viewfield Place area of Perth at about 4.10pm today. Crieff Road was closed off for a short time but is now open again, and Viewfield Place remains closed."

Inspector Martin Pattie said “I would like to thank members of the public for their co-operation and patience.

This was a contained incident, there was no risk to the general public and investigations are continuing. Should any person have any information about the incident please contact police on 101 or speak to any officer. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111”
