Anyone aged 16 or over can attend any of the drop-in clinics for their first jab or for their second dose, if they are at 8 weeks or more since their first.

Director of Public Health, Dr Emma Fletcher said, “As cases continue to drop in Tayside, many of those who missed their first or second dose appointments due to having COVID-19 or being a close contact in recent weeks will now be eligible to get jabbed. It is really important to get the vaccine, even if you have recently had the infection, to give you the best protection possible so please get along to one of our clinics when you can.

“We are really pleased to see such a positive response from 16 and 17-year-olds in this first week since they became eligible for vaccination. It is really important for young adults to get the jab to protect themselves and those around them as they return to school, college and university so we would urge anyone who hasn’t yet been for the vaccine to do so as soon as possible.

“We will continue running our drop-in clinics over the coming weeks to make sure that everyone can get both doses of the vaccine as soon as they are eligible. We will also have more pop up clinics in local areas, so keep an eye out for details of those.

“By getting the jab you are protecting yourself and people around you and helping all of us to get out of this pandemic as quickly and safely as possible.”
