Using Twitter Cards for news is a brilliant way to divert more traffic to your @ handle and your website regardless of which profession you come from.

So a Twitter card basically shows a preview of a story, with a hyper link, article title and perhaps an image as well. You can also include a different @ handle basically common known as the author. Although the main @ handle will show as well - regardless.

This service is offered to anyone ~ with a normal account ~ too. Many people think verified users only get this option which is incorrect, anyone can have this once you know how to work it.

Twitter needs to approve your website's URL first which can take seconds or days depending on how Twitter is that day.

To enable your Twitter cards, please visit here and work through the steps. If you have a problem get in contact with me on Twitter or email at louise.grant@perthgazette.co.uk
