Perth has lots of events happening this weekend, and yes did we mention the Christmas light switch on?

Local band Paradise Found are also playing on the stage at 1PM, its a treat to hear!

Perth Christmas Lights switch on

Saturday 22 November 2014 Start time: 12:00 Venue: Various City Centre location (High Street / Tay Street) Suitability: All ages Cost: Free Booking: Not required A spectacular and star-studded event will take place in Perth city centre to celebrate the Christmas lights switch on. Saturday Perth city centre's streets will be transformed into winter wonderlands, inspired by favourite Christmas films. St John Street will be dressed as Narnia from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and George Street will be themed as Miracle on 34th Street.

Starting at 12 noon, there will be festive frolics for the whole family to enjoy, culminating in the big switch on.

Crowds will be treated to a performance by Peter Andre, best known for his music and television career, achieving two number one albums and numerous number one hit singles, including the smash hit Mysterious Girl. Peter will be joined on the Main Stage in Tay Street by 70s and 80s super-group Boney M. featuring Maizie Williams, the swing music group and Britain's Got Talent Finalists, Jack Pack, Lorraine Crosby and her band, and rising music stars, Sienna, from Kinross.

Meet Santa

Santa will be at the St John's Shopping Centre from 12 noon 'til 5 pm where he is keen to meet as many children as possible before heading off to take part in the parade.

Outdoor Screens will be available at Horsecross Plaza, located at the Ring Statues at the junction of High Street/King Edward Street, and also at the Junction of St John's Street/High Street.

Perth's Outdoor Ice Rink

Saturday 22 November 2014 Start time: 10:00 End time: 20:00 Venue: Harry’s Bar, South Methven Street, Perth Suitability: All ages Cost: £4 per person Booking: Essential Perth's Outdoor Ice Rink Perth's outdoor Ice Rink is this year setting up at Harry's in South Methven Street. Come along and join in the fun. Skate hire is included in the price and there are skating aids for those who are wobbly on their feet. Advance booking is advisable but you can book on the day.
