26-year-old man rushed to Ninewells following St Catherines Square fire

Police Scotland are dealing with a serious fire which occurred in a flat at 27 St Catherines Square, Perth about 11.35pm, Tuesday 18th February 2014.

The fire was extinguished by units from Tayside Fire and Rescue and a 26 year old male occupant was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee suffering from injuries sustained in the fire. His present condition is unknown. A spokesman from Tayside Fire and Rescue said:

"A further call came in to say that the occupant of the flat was hanging from the window. As the Perth appliances arrived into Lickley Street, unfortunately, the man fell to the ground, and was conveyed with serious leg injuries, to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. "

Police officers are still making enquiries into the case of the blaze
