Flats in Pomarium Street have been left without power due to a fire.

This afternoon a fire has broken out in Pomarium Street near the town centre which has left the whole block without power.

Perth & Kinross Council said:

A fire at Pomarium St in Perth has left a block of flats without power. Our Housing team are there sorting out temporary accommodation for everyone who needs it. If you are affected and unable to wait in your flat, please go to Greyfriars House, 55 Princes Street.

UPDATE 26/12/2013

SSE are expected to visit tomorrow (Friday) but power will not be restored until early next week at the earliest, and it could be up to two weeks before power is back. For advice and assistance with temporary accommodation please contact Greyfriars House on freephone 0800 917 0708.

UPDATE 27/12/2013

following the fire on Christmas Day which left the Pomarium Flats block without power SSE are currently restoring power to flats 7-33 (the first three floors). We are waiting timescales for power returning to the rest of the building. Further updates will be posted here as we get them.
