Pedestrian dies after being hit by van on M9

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a van on a motorway.

Emergency services were called around 20:30 reports that a man was hit by a Ford Transit van near Dunblane. Paramedics carried out medical treatment but the man died at the scene.

Police Scotland are looking for potential witnesses to come forward, for them  to carry out a further investigation.

A spokesman said: "Tragically, this incident has resulted in the pedestrian's death and we are in the process of investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

"Police are also conducting inquiries to identify the male and no further details on his identity can be released at this time."
