Two lanes on the A9 between A824, which leads into Auchterarder, and the B8081 junction at Blackford are currently blocked.

Police Scotland have advised motorists to avoid the area after a pedestrian has been hit by a car.  Another separate incident on the Perth and the B934 junction in Forteviot are currently blocked near Broxden roundabout.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland along with other emergency services attended at the A9 at Gleneagles today at 3.20pm after reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

The southbound carriageway will be closed for some time for investigations surrounding the collision to be carried out.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."

A witness said to Perth Gazette: "Appears a pedestrian has been hit and is covered over by a blue tarpaulin. There is also a green sleeping bag lying beside the tarp but it looked like there was nothing under it."
