Road closure A85 Crieff to Perth following serious RTC

A 40-year-old man has died following a serious RTC on the A85.

A spokesman said: "The collision at Fowlis Wester happened at around 6.20pm today, Saturday, 24 October.

It is anticipated the road will remain closed for a significant amount of time while enquiries are carried out at the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and seek an alternative route."

Police Scotland later confirmed a 40-year-old male has died following the serious RTC.

A spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 40-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision on the A85 Crieff to Perth Road at Fowlis Wester on Saturday, 24 October.

The collision which happened at around 6.20pm involved a red Ford Fiesta and a red Mercedes Sprinter van.

The man who died had been driving the red Ford Fiesta. Three people who were in the red Mercedes Sprinter van were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and treated for minor injuries."

The road remains closed and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route if possible.
