Police Scotland confirm a 52-year-old man has been charged following the incident.
Ailsa Howden, 19, from Perth announced to her friends on Facebook the driver has been caught. She said on the social networking site “The driver has been caught!”
The two young girls were hit by the car on News Years Day early hours after getting out a friends car to head up to their friends flat.
It’s believed a 52-year-old man has been arrested following the incident and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
