Home-Start Perth will soon be celebrating their 30th Birthday celebrations and commemorating 30 years of helping families in Perth and Kinross since 1984.

Home-Start Perth are on the lookout for new Home-Start Perth volunteers to join their April volunteer prep-course, to use their parenting expertise to guide more families in Perth and Kinross with children under 5 who are experiencing difficulties.

Volunteering for Home-Start Perth can be very rewarding, if you have parenting experience and feel you could spare some time to support a family in your community, please get in touch. After an initial training course (4 hours per week for 9 weeks) our trained volunteers visit families in their own home offering practical and emotional support in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or just where parenting is a struggle.

Our volunteers are non-judgemental and will help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope with day to day family life. Our next course will take place at The Gateway in Perth from 10am – 2pm over a nine week period, starting on Tuesday, 29th April and it’s not too late to apply for this!

The work of Home Start would be impossible without the efforts of their volunteers; who are trained by Home Start and all have parenting experience, will visit a family in their own home offering practical and emotional support in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or just where parenting is a struggle. Our volunteers are non-judgemental and will help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope with day to day family life.
