Scottish Councils officials jet off to Riviera funded by the taxpayers

Scottish councils including Perth & Kinross Council are set to jet off to Riviera due to a conference.

Scottish councils including Perth & Kinross Council are set to jet off to Riviera due to a conference. 

They’ll also be given free Ryder Cup tickets accompanied by bottles of whiskey.  Last night, a spokeswoman said the total cost of the venture was £277,000.

Hotel and travel costs will also be paid which officials from Edinburgh Council, Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth & Kinross and Stirling will be attending.

Kirsty Hall, from London-based property recruitment said:

“Taxpayers will struggle to understand why it’s costing £100,000 a day for 14 officials to take part in this event.

“When budgets are tight, councils and government must always strive to get value for money.”
