The Association has selected the City of Perth to hold the gathering’s key events including the 2014 European Brass Band Championships, the sixth European Solo Championships and the inaugural European Youth Brass Band Contest.

In addition, the engagement of communities across the country during the extended festival period will present a diverse variety of showcase performances, workshops, exhibitions, master-classes and presentations to spotlight Scotland’s musical heritage on a global stage.

Provost Liz Grant commented: “I am delighted the European Festival of Brass has chosen Perth to hold its main events. I am looking forward to welcoming the finest brass bands in Europe as well as the European Youth Brass Band to our city.
“I am also looking forward to attending the sixth European Solo competition. This showcase event attracts performances from Europe’s most talented musicians.”
