Neil Whylie has been given 22 months for running over two young women at Hogmanay.
The drunken 52-year-old was jailed following a hit & run in Perth leaving two young women shocked and bruised the court heard.
A four year ban from driving was also ordered, Fiscal depute Chris Macintosh said ”
This happened at 25 past midnight and the girls had been out socialising and were crossing the road.
“They became aware of a car travelling up Perth High Street towards them. It sped up with the engine revving and collided with them.”
Miss Howden, 19, and Miss Stewart, 20, had been in the town centre to celebrate hogmany, until their celebrations were ruined by Neil Whylie.
The court ordered 22 months in prison, with a further 10 months of supervision upon his release, and was banned from driving for four years.
