Deceased identified following Gleneagles RTC

Police Scotland, Tayside Division can confirm that a pedestrian who suffered fatal injuries as a result of a road traffic collision on the A9 at Gleneagles at 3.20pm on Thursday 3 July has now been identified.

Police Scotland, Tayside Division can confirm that a pedestrian who suffered fatal injuries as a result of a road traffic collision on the A9 at Gleneagles at 3.20pm on Thursday 3 July has now been identified.

He has been named as 79-year old John Gibson of Glasgow.

Mr Gibson’s family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that he will be greatly missed. They do not wish to make any further comments and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going and Tayside Division would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Police Scotland on 101.

As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
