Police Scotland said they are investigating an unexplained death in Perth.

Police Scotland said they are investigating an unexplained death in Perth.

A 45-year-old woman was found dead at Canal Street last weekend which has sparked an investigation. Police said they are treating the death as sudden but unexplained.

Meanwhile, a flat on James Street was closed off while investigations were carried out relating to the same incident on Canal Street.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland, Tayside Division received a report at about 11pm  on Saturday 19 July 2014 regarding the sudden death of a 45 year-old woman within a dwelling on Canal Street in Perth.

There are no suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
