A 64-year-old woman, from Letham, targeted by fake gas man in Perth and could be the same man from yesterdays robbery, 15th of August. 

Yesterday, 15th of August Police Scotland confirmed an 92-year-old woman was robbed after a man gained entry claiming he worked for a gas company.

News has emerged this afternoon a second pensioner, who is 64-years-old was robbed in her own home and it’s believed to be the same man. The woman who described the man matches the same man from yesterdays incident in North Muirton.

A spokesman from Police Scotland said: “There is maintenance work ongoing in this area at present and it is believed the male has used this as an opportunity to commit this offence. All local occupants are encouraged to remain particularly vigilant and to double check ID with the relevant company if in any doubt about their credentials.

Police are extremely keen to trace any witnesses who were in the area of Iona Court around this time who may have seen or heard something which may assist enquiries.”

The incident happened around 12.30pm today, 16 of August on Fortingale Place, Perth.
