Police in Perth are appealing for witnesses following a report of a 92 year-old woman who had her purse stolen from within her home address in Iona Court, North Muirton earlier today (Friday, August 13)

Police in Perth are appealing for witnesses following a report of a 92 year-old woman who had her purse stolen from within her home address in Iona Court, North Muirton earlier today (Friday, August 13)

The woman was at home on her own around 11.45am, when a male wearing a yellow high visibility vest attended at her home and gained entry when claiming to be there to carry out some work. The male had ID but the woman could not describe it.

The male is described as white, 5’4” – 5’5” wearing a high visibility vest approximately aged in his early 40’s.

There is maintenance work ongoing in this area at present and it is believed the male has used this as an opportunity to commit this offence. All local occupants are encouraged to remain particularly vigilant and to double check ID with the relevant company if in any doubt about their credentials.

Police are extremely keen to trace any witnesses who were in the area of Iona Court around this time who may have seen or heard something which may assist enquiries.
