A Balhouise Care worker named as Demi Smith dies at her own address in Dundee last weekend.

Demi Smith, aged 21, from Dundee has taken her own life leaving two young children behind. A spokesperson from the Perth company said:“We are saddened and shocked to hear about the passing of Demi.

“Demi was a very popular member of our care team who will be sadly missed.

“She was a much-loved and valued care assistant, gaining respect from residents, relative and colleagues from within the home.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to Demi’s family and friends, in particular her two young children.

“We will do our very best to support her colleagues at this difficult time.”

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said:“Police Scotland can confirm that officers attended an address in Ballantrae Gardens, Dundee, following a report of the sudden death of a 21-year-old woman.

“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
