Council calls for local talent to help celebrate this years winter festival

Perth & Kinross Council are looking for people with talent to get in contact for this years winter festival.

Perth & Kinross Council are looking for people with talent to get in contact for this years winter festival.

Local singers, musicians, performing arts and youth groups with an interest in street performances are being called upon to demonstrate their talents as part of the Perth City Winter Festival line-up this year.

There are opportunities for performers to get involved in:

  • The Community Stage – For the second year running there will be a community stage set up in King Edward Street between 1.00 pm and 4.45 pm on both days of the Christmas lights switch on weekend (Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November).
  • Christmas Lights Parade – The annual parade will start at 5.30 pm on Saturday 22 November, with groups being asked to gather from 4.30 pm.
  • The Singing Tree – A performance area for community groups/entertainers carol singing or giving a music or other type of performance. A PA system can be supplied free of charge if booked in advance.

A spokesperson said more confirmed acts for this years Christmas Light Switch on will be confirmed next week.
