£1.9 million was spent in Perth, Perth Gazette can confirm. A council spokesman also confirmed £8,350 was spent on Gareth Gates during the Commonwealth Games Celebration.

Perth and Kinross Council are not giving out the information on the total of Peter Andre but a spokesmand said: “Section 36(2) states that Information is exempt information if it was obtained from another person or company, and if its disclosure would constitute an actionable breach of confidence.

The contracts signed by Perth and Kinross Council in relation to the hiring of acts for this event contained clauses prohibiting the release of financial information.
