Are you wondering how you can put your stamp on this new school year? Barnardo’s Scotland has the answer with an easy stamp-collection initiative you can get involved with in your school today.

Teachers, schoolchildren and their families are being encouraged to show that they believe in children by setting up stamp collection points around their schools. A mere bucket or cardboard box can be placed in reception as a drop off point for postal stamps of all kinds – from ordinary UK stamps, to foreign stamps collected on your recent summer holiday trip, to full collections, all are accepted.

Regional Fundraising Manager for the leading children’s charity, Hayley Best, said: “I often get asked by teachers how their pupils can get involved in fundraising for the children in their communities who need our support. And this is the perfect project for them to do just that! It’s a simple but effective means for our charity to raise vital funds which ensures everyone can take it on. The initiative is a brilliant way for schoolchildren to use the power of communication to encourage their family and friends to contribute also.”

When the buckets are full, the stamps can be posted to Barnardo’s Stamp Appeal, PO BOX 6107, Stromness, KW16 9AB. Barnardo’s Scotland will receive a financial contribution from partner Citadel Stamps for the load.
