The Ross family from Perth are taking part in the annual Dundee walk at Camperdown Country Park in support of their boy Gregor, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma and is now in remission.

They hope to raise vital funds in aid of blood cancer charity Bloodwise, a charity very close to their heart.

Lola Ross (43 years), Scott Ross (44 years), Sophie Ross (11 years) and Gregor Ross (13 years) are taking on the 5k walk on Sunday 4 October. This lovely walk leads around the park with great views overlooking Dundee and ends at Camperdown Wildlife Centre Café.

Lola says (mum to Gregor), “It’s something we wanted to do as a family, not only meet other families affected by blood cancer but most importantly to raise awareness of lymphoma.  The consultants and nurses from Edinburgh Sick Children’s Hospital and Tayside Children’s Hospital were amazingly supportive and gave Gregor the strength and coping mechanisms to get through his cancer journey. This is our way of giving back everything we were given, by raising money to support Bloodwise.”

Yvonne Dickson, Head of Regional Fundraising at Bloodwise, says: “Every penny that the family will raise will help us improve the lives of patients like Gregor and reach our goal of beating blood cancers.”
