Police in Tayside Division are in attendance with other emergency services at the A90 westbound carriageway in Longforgan following a serious road collision.

Police Scotland have confirmed emergency services are attending a serious incident following an RTC on the A90 near Dundee.

One witness said there about 16 police vehicles on scene with ambulances. The witness who wishes to remain anonymous said ” Police seem to be focusing on the embankment, around 16 police cars can be seen”

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “he incident happened around 9.20pm and has resulted in the road being closed at the Swallow Roundabout.

It is anticipated the road will remain closed for a significant amount of time while inquiries are undertaken at the scene.

In the meantime, motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

At this time there is no information on any casualties, however, we will provide more details when they become available. ”

Just after 2am on the 24th of October 2015, Police Scotland confirmed a 9-year-old boy has died following the collision.

A spokesman said: “The collision happened at around 9.20pm on Friday, 23 October, 2015 and involved a blue Ford C Max and the boy, who was a pedestrian. No other vehicles were involved and no one else has been injured.

Police have appealed to anyone who may have seen the collision to contact them on 101.”
