Police in Inchture are appealing to the public to help trace a man in relation to an incident where a young teenage girl was approached by a man in the Moncur Road area.
The incident happened at around 4:30pm on Tuesday 9 February, a short distance from the Inchture Parish Church.
The man is described as being a white man in his late 30s, approximately 6ft average build, with a bald head and light stubble on his face and chin. He was wearing a black short sleeved round neck t-shirt, sandy coloured chinos and a work utility belt around his waist. He spoke with a local accent.
The man engaged the girl in conversation, before getting in a van that parked at the corner of the junction with Main Street. The van is described as being a white transit van with metal roof racks.
Sgt Kevin Johnstone said: “We would like to trace the driver of this van, so that we can establish the circumstances of this conversation and rule out anything untoward. We are appealing for him, or anyone with any information, to get in touch. Our enquiries have established that there were a number of people nearby at the village shop and at the Inchture Primary playground.
“If you were in the area at the time and have information which may assist our enquiries we would ask that you contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
