Police Officers in Perth are appealing for information following the theft of a large sum of money in the city of Perth.

The theft of cash occurred at approximately 3.10pm on Friday 1 April 2016 on Murray Terrace in Perth.

Officers are following a positive line of enquiry and are keen to speak to a female who is described as wearing a navy blue, thigh length parka jacket with fur hood, black leggings, trainers and an over the shoulder tan handbag who may have information that could assist the enquiry.

The female is reported to have been seen uplifting the money, which had been accidentally dropped, on Murray Terrace. She was then seen walking onto Viewlands Road and then Glasgow Road.

Anyone recognising the female described or who has information that could assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 with information or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.

UPDATE: Cash returned to the owner in full following a police appeal.
