Moorelands Travel has launched a new store in Kinross, aimed at bringing a market-leading travel experience to local customers.
Four new jobs have been created with the opening of the new branch that sits on the town’s High Street, including two modern apprenticeships. Moorelands Travel is a Managed Service Travel Partner of Barrhead Travel’s Brilliant Travel division, which offers support to independent travel agents.
Providing them with enhanced buying power, tailor-made product offers and use of state-of-the-art systems, Brilliant Travel brings access to the widest range of holiday options in the market.
The fast-growing arm of Barrhead Travel also provides its members with marketing, administration and accounts support, as well as access to information from a diverse network of travel specialists.
The Kinross site is the third store that Moorlands Travel has opened in the past three years, adding to existing locations in Cowdenbeath and Kelty.
Owner Marie Shevas – who previously worked in the same office when it was operated by Loch Leven Travel – is excited about bringing the Moorelands Travel experience to Kinross.
Headed-up by Marie’s business partner Laura Hibbert, the store will feature a foreign exchange bureau and will specialise in long-haul and cruise holidays.
She said: “We have delivered consistent growth year-on-year and have been exploring opportunities to expand our branch footprint.
“With a large and diverse local population, Kinross has been an obvious choice for us – we are very much looking forward to embedding ourselves in the local community whilst enhancing choice for our customers.”

Moorelands Travel’s partnership with Brilliant Travel brings a range of support and access to the Barrhead Travel global product range.
