The Green Room Perth, which has recently come under new ownership, is preparing itself for its big re-launch unveil tomorrow evening on March 24th.
General Manager Fiona Munro and her tireless and dynamic team have been putting in quite the shift over the past few months with renovations to the pub – whilst still managing to book acts and put on endless amounts of live music. Having spent time renovating, decorating and just generally re-shaping The Green Room is now ready to celebrate. How are they doing this you ask? The only way The Green Room should – by inviting all their friends and putting on a night of live music with a stellar line-up.
Tomorrow night from 8.30pm The Green Room stage will be graced by Bubbatrees, Michael James & The Bedheads, SUPA & da kryponites & Mickey 9’s to kick off what the venue hope to be a new era for music in Perth. As of tomorrow evening you can expect live music every night of the week from the venue. So put your coats on, grab your friends and join in the fun for what is set not only to be a good night but a good future for the Perth venue.
Even though undergoing renovations, the venue has still been extremely busy hosting music nights. Their weekly open mic takeover night, every Monday, is proving to be very successful. Having attended Alex McCall & Friends in February I was able to watch as local artists, old and new, were inspired to perform in the intimate downstairs bar. The local music venue have also been hosting The Red Pine Timber Co. open mic every Wednesday and a monthly funk session – to name but a few of their regular live nights.
Last week on St Patrick’s Day seen Perth local band Empire play their debut headline slot with support from bands from Perth and beyond – the Benedictus. boys from Dundee, Heavy Duty Box Company from Auchterarder and Celtic Beast of The North East (doesn’t that just roll off the tongue!). In the past few months we have also seen headline acts such as Brainglue, The Kalaharis and The Sandemans as well as Heat 1 of the Westfest Battle of the Bands 2018.
Coming up over the next few months Fuchsia and John Wheels will be taking to the stage, Parliamo will be launching their new single and Edinburgh based Vistas will be making The Green Room one of their tour stops on May 10th.
With an aim to host, inspire and drive not just local talent but Scottish as well it’s safe to say the local venue is set to have a very busy year ahead! Tickets for tomorrow night are £7.50, the venue will also be accepting the Mi Perthshire gift card, so get in quick to grab yours before they go!
