Perth band Empire make it to the grand final of WestFest Battle of the Bands 2018, taking place tonight in Dundee.
The final taking place tonight at Church in Dundee will see 6 Scottish bands take to the stage to compete for a main stage slot at WestFest, a mastered EP and 10 hours rehearsal time. WestFest Battle of the Bands has been running on various nights since 16th March, seeing 48 bands from across Scotland showcasing their talent to be in with a chance of winning.
Playing for the prize tonight is Dundee’s Ruvellas, OHRIO and Saint-Louie, Kirkcaldy band Gentlemen Jackals, Bad Actress from the Highlands and Perth band Empire. Empire being the only band from Perth left in the competition.
Empire, who have been working on their set since 2014, formed their full line up in spring last year. They have a lot of exciting work lined up with an EP on the way and a music video. They have been working extremely hard to get to the final and have also informed their Facebook followers yesterday they have sold out of their ticket allocation for tonight.
Gary Clark, Empire, said “We want to thank every band we’ve played with so far! There’s been a hell of a lot of strong competition and it just makes us all the more grateful to be in the final stage!”
If you can then get down to watch the final and if not make sure to show the Perth band some love, good luck and well done!
