Scone Palace, one of Scotland’s favourite visitor attractions, has invited its paw-some four-legged visitors – and their owners – to come indoors to warm up after a walk in the grounds during the cold winter months.
Recently named one of the most pet-friendly places to visit in the world, Scone Palace is a popular spot for dog walkers to take a stroll with beautiful woodland gardens for dogs to run around in, drinking stations dotted throughout the grounds and looming Douglas Firs for owners to admire. Lord and Lady Mansfield of Scone Palace are Norfolk Terrier owners themselves and are regularly seen in the grounds with their dog.
Now, for the first time, the Palace has opened its Old Kitchen to dogs during the winter season, where they can relax with their owners after a bracing walk.
Dog owners can pick up a hot drink from the Palace Coffee Shop and enjoy it with their canine companions in the Old Kitchen which will, complete with an original Victorian range, offer a warm, quiet and spacious environment for both owners and their dogs to enjoy.
During the summer, Scone Palace was named in the top seven of the U.K.’s most pet-friendly places and outranked several other famous Scottish locations, making it the animal lovers’ favourite in Scotland. TrustedHousesitters, the world’s largest house and pet sitting company, asked its users to vote for the best places in the world to take pets. Scone Palace won the accolade for its spectacular location and dog-friendly attitude.
Following this accolade, Scone Palace decided to make the visitor experience even more pet-friendly during the colder winter months.

We hope all of our regular dog walkers as well as new visitors will enjoy a coffee in our Old Kitchen.”
Dogs will be welcomed in the Old Kitchen during the closed winter season only. In the summer months, outdoor seating is provided. Admission to the Palace grounds, Coffee Shop and Food Shop is free during the winter months and is open from 10.00am-4.00pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from February 1, 2019.
