The Perthshire-based boarding school, established in 1930, will cease operations at the end of the current school term, bosses confirmed this week.

Kilgraston School management have now deleted the closure announcement from their website, when visiting the announcement article, a ‘page not found’ error is shown which is now causing chaos and speculation as to why.

Several staff at Kilgraston School have contacted Perth Gazette over the weekend to confirm bosses at the school are trying to find around £2 million in funding to prevent the school from closing.

The whole situation has been poorly handled, with parents and staff criticising the chair and management for the delivery of the announcement and now with the removal of the closure announcement with no explanation as to why.

Perth Gazette has approached Kilgraston School to ask why their closure announcement has been deleted, we will update the article once we hear back.

It is rather odd and appalling behaviour the way they have handled this. Many teachers saw the news on social media before they read their emails!! how can we trust our money with them now if they won’t even communicate properly with their staff and students and the public? what a tragic 48 hours and now we have to read the news from local sites rather from them.

Looks like the board of trustees decided to close the school without contacting anybody affected. Staff, parents and alumnae then saved the school in less than 24 hours while the damage has already been made. Amazing engagement from the rescue team and very poor management from above.
