Several roads in Perth remain closed following a fire at a derelict building on Dunkeld Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 12.25am on Sunday, 22 June, after reports of a fire at the abandoned property. Firefighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service worked to extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
As a precaution, a number of nearby properties were temporarily evacuated. Residents have since been allowed to return to their homes.
An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released pending further enquiries.
The cause of the fire is currently being treated as unexplained, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Dunkeld Road, Balhousie Street, and Muirton Place remain closed at this time, with police urging motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area.
A spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while enquiries continue. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
