Timber kits rolled out for 84 new homes in Stanley as Muir Group expands woodland development

Muir Timber Systems has begun supplying and installing timber kits for 84 new homes in Stanley, Perthshire, as part of Phase Two of The Deer Pines — a distinctive woodland development by Muir Homes.

This next phase of the project includes a carefully considered mix of 25 private homes, ranging from two to five bedrooms, alongside 59 affordable homes. A notable feature of the expansion is the increased number of single-storey bungalows, aimed at meeting growing demand for accessible living and providing long-term flexibility for residents of all ages.

The timber kits are being manufactured at Muir Timber Systems’ advanced facility in Inverkeithing. Built using responsibly sourced materials and partially powered by on-site solar energy, the factory underlines Muir Group’s commitment to sustainable, low-carbon construction practices.

Located just south of the village of Stanley and approximately seven miles from Perth, The Deer Pines is nestled in mature woodland and wild meadows, with the River Tay nearby. The development offers residents a tranquil countryside setting within easy reach of key transport routes including the A9 and M90.

Gary Gray, General Manager at Muir Timber Systems, commented:

“We’re proud to support the continued success of The Deer Pines development with our high-quality, precision-manufactured timber kits. This is the type of project we excel at—combining sustainable design, thoughtful planning and efficient delivery to produce energy-efficient homes that are built to last.”

Martin Smith, CEO of Muir Group, added:

“The success of Phase One at The Deer Pines speaks volumes about the strength of our integrated approach. Muir Timber Systems and Muir Homes work seamlessly to deliver homes built with care, efficiency, and lasting value. This is a unique development—homes set within a forest, designed for modern family life, and with an emphasis on accessible living through the inclusion of a significant number of bungalows.”

Phase Two of The Deer Pines is expected to further strengthen Muir Group’s reputation for delivering environmentally conscious and community-focused housing developments across Scotland.
