Young people from the local outreach project Logos have been given a unique opportunity to develop their media skills with Heartland FM.
Station Manager Dave Mac and Head of Production Lewis Ness welcomed the group to the station’s studios for a hands-on taster session in podcasting and radio broadcasting.
During the visit, the youngsters learned how to conduct interviews—a skill they will soon put into practice at the upcoming Crieff Summer Festival. Highlights from these interviews will be broadcast on Heartland FM.
The session also introduced them to the editing and production process, equipping them with the technical know-how to prepare their content for radio. Later this month, the group will return to the studio to edit their recordings into a short podcast series. This series will be shared on Heartland FM’s platforms, giving the budding broadcasters valuable real-world experience in media production.
