Perth & Kinross Council has developed a toolkit of free publicity materials for community and business use during 2014.

As Scotland welcomes the Commonwealth Games and Homecoming, and Perthshire hosts The 2014 Ryder Cup and Junior Ryder Cup, the Council is supporting a host of activities to celebrate these events, and make sure the area gains a lasting legacy from them.

From the 2014 Community Challenge Fund, to a public art trail of willow sculptures, and from a campaign to get people active, to an educational resource for schools, 2014 has inspired a wealth of projects. The ‘Take Part, Take Pride, Take Place’ campaign allows individuals, communities and businesses to use free publicity materials to celebrate the 2014 events or help to publicise their own related activity. The branding combines elements of The 2014 Ryder Cup and Junior Ryder Cup brand for businesses and communities to mark these international events

Councillor Ian Miller, Leader of the Council, said: “We’ve seen a huge amount interest from community groups and local businesses in joining in with the celebration of 2014. Bloom groups, schools, community councils, golf clubs and more have come up with ideas, and applied for funding for projects, which is fantastic.

“We quickly realised that many people were looking for materials like posters, web banners and stickers that they could use to promote events and show their support. People living on the Queen’s Baton Relay route are keen to have their towns looking their best, and businesses want to demonstrate their support for the Ryder Cup. This toolkit is the answer: free downloadable and printed materials, which have been approved by The 2014 Ryder Cup Europe team.”
